Intuitive Manufacturing
Systems (IMS)
Proprietary-owned software company developed a manufacturing
system for small to mid-sized companies.
The software is developed with 100% Microsoft products which
include VB, MS Access, Excel, VBA, and SQL Server 7.0.
The software application is developed to allow the
manufacturing company to control inventory while engaging an ordering
system to control costs and accountabilities. The software
program is developed into one whole package that has different
life cycles such as Accounting, Inventory, Shop Floor
Control, Order Processsing, and RMA that allows the company to
control all of it's oprating needs. The software environment
is developed in a Client and Server n-tier application that
is installs properly after SQL Server has been initiated in
the company platform. The clients use a front-end GUI which
is used for entering data to commit transactions to the
storage location of the sql server through a tcp/Ip connection.
In conjunction with the rollout of Microsoft Windows NT
Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, Office 97,
MS Outlook, and Systems Management Server, we mapped out how
our customer service (the initial point of
contact between users and computer support) would provide
support. Instituted a sense of urgency for customer's
response. Used SQL Server as the main tool for database
maintenance, scheduled tasks and recovery.
